The Illinois Medical School Admissions Seminar (IMSAS) is a collaborative conference hosted annually by the 8 Illinois Medical Schools. This seminar provides interested students and their advisors with information about what it is like to be a medical student, the educational opportunities available at each of our schools, and practical aspects of the admissions process.
In years past, the IMSAS has taken place on different campuses, from Chicago to Normal to Urbana-Champaign. The seminar typically attracts over 500 students and advisors from Illinois and the Midwest region.
The program for the seminar includes information sessions as well as panel discussions on a wide variety of topics, from interviewing tips to strategies for writing a personal statement. Session leaders will include medical students and admissions officers from each of the Illinois schools. During the informal open house session at the end of the day, students will be able to visit individually with representatives from each school.
There is no charge for this seminar and students at all levels of undergraduate, graduate, or post-baccalaureate study are welcome. However, we do ask all participants to register in advance so that we can plan accordingly. We ask attendees to arrive between 8:00 and 9:00am on the day of the seminar.
Please direct questions about the seminar to firstname.lastname@example.org.
